Laurence Shirley, 4th Earl Ferrers, was an English nobleman, notable for being the last peer to be hanged, following his conviction for murdering his steward. It was said that as a concession to his rank, his noose was made of silk. He was taken from the Tower of London to Tyburn, dressed in his wedding outfit, and hanged by Thomas Turlis. His execution is used widely in popular culture to illustrate the equality of the law by how a nobleman was executed "like a common criminal."
Effects[]
When this noose is hung up, it will extend down and begin to rise up and choke anyone standing directly beneath it. It glows gold while active, and released a bright flash of light when cut.
Use[]
This artifact was used against Myka Bering by Geoffrey Mahoney in Viola Adair's survival game. It wasn't until Myka used Willem Jansz's Boomerang to save Pete and cut down Geoffrey from a branch that Pete could cut the noose down, likely permanently damaging it.
