The Baylor Dodgeball,[1] also known as the Baylor Dodge Ball,[2] is an artifact first featured in "Breakdown".

Origin[]

The dodge ball was used for military dexterity and agility training.[3]

Effects[]

The ball has the ability to bounce on its own, and will propel itself at great velocity to strike people when they aren't looking at it, and multiplies on contact with someone. It was used at Fort Baylor for agility and dexterity training - because if you can dodge a ball, you can dodge a bullet. It was brought to the Warehouse in 1972 after it killed five Army cadets. It reverts to its original state and number when someone catches one of the balls. It's activated when it starts bouncing.

History[]

Baylor Dodgeball Screen - Large

The dodge ball was activated during military training and bludgeoned five cadets to death[1] in 1961. It was presumably acquired shortly thereafter by agents of Warehouse 13, where it was contained (albeit still quite animated) in a crate. Two agents carried it with some struggle through the Main Office while Charlie Martin supervised and Myka Bering and Pete Lattimer (in the bodies of Rebecca St. Clair and Jack Secord respectively, through the use of H.G. Wells' Time Machine) prepared to investigate the use of Cinderella's Glass Knife.[2]

The ball was accidentally activated when the AutoVac malfunctioned and pressed a button that cut a zip-line cord. The cord collided with the shelf the ball was on and caused it to be knocked off and begin bouncing. Pete and Myka were soon cornered by the balls, but Pete was able to successfully catch one of the balls before he and Myka were beaten to death by them.[3]
